Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Scholarship

Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency is now accepting applications for the

Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Scholarship.
Applications can be downloaded or picked up at either agency location.

Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a high school senior residing in either Bell or Whitley county
Must provide documentation that you have been accepted into an accredited college or trade school
Must enter college/trade school no later than Fall semester after graduating high school
Household income must fall below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (Please see income chart)
Must provide all household proof of income verification with scholarship application
Must include narrative

 

Scholarship will be paid direct to the college/trade school on behalf of the scholarship recipient.

This project is funded, in part, under a contract with the Cabinet for Health and Family services with funds from the Community Services Block Grant Act of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

SOLICITATION OF FUEL VENDORS

 

        Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency, Inc. announces that Coal, Wood, Propane, Fuel Oil and Kerosene Vendors are being solicited to provide home heating fuel in the SUBSIDY and CRISIS Components of the 2021-2022 Home Energy Assistance Program in Bell and Whitley Counties.  The Subsidy Component will begin November 1st, 2021 and will end December 10th, 2021.  The Crisis Component will begin on January 10th, 2022 and will end March 31st, 2022 or until funds are expended.

              Interested Vendors may pick up a Vendor Packet at the Bell-Whitley Office at 129 Pine Street Pineville, KY or 215 N. 4th Street Williamsburg, KY.  Clients will select from an Approved Vendor List.

              The Bell-Whitley Office must receive all vendor information and fuel quotes no later than 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 27th 2021.

              Minority and disadvantaged business owners are encouraged to apply.

 

 Due to COVID 19, all approved vendors will be contacted regarding vendor procedures and vendor meetings.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT SOLICITATION OF HVAC,
ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING CONTRACTORS
Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency, Inc. announces that licensed and insured HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing contractors are being solicited to provide contracting services for the Bell-Whitley CAA weatherization department. Services will include but not limited to installation and/or repair of home energy heating systems, installation of exhaust fans and domestic water heater systems. Interested contractors must fill out reference forms and sign a contract with Bell-Whitley CAA. All contractors must also meet certain training and certification requirements. Training requirements include; mold and mildew awareness, asbestos, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30-hour construction course, lead based paint, and certified lead renovator training. All contractors must be or willing to obtain their EPA lead safe firm certification. For more information contact Michael Caldwell at 606-337-3044.

Bell-Whitley CAA, Inc. Community Needs Assessment 

is a tool that each program that our agency operates is represented within.   

As an agency we are required not only to submit this information on a state level but we must also provide this information to our own Board of Directors. Now, one of the best things about this survey is the capability to complete it online. Below you will find the link to the survey.
